Dunklin County Health Department

The Dunklin County Health Department follows Missouri State Program Guidelines for inspecting food service establishments.  These include, but are not limited to, restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, school cafeterias, senior nutrition centers, taverns, bakeries, caterers, institutions, temporary and mobile food units, and summer food service program sites.

Taverns and frozen dessert establishments are required to have an approved, current inspection prior to being licensed by the state.  Plan reviews and pre-opening inspections are, also, needed prior to opening any new establishments, as well as reopening any establishment that has changed ownership, been remodeled, or has sustained any major damage.

Any food items that have been involved in any circumstances that may have compromised the food’s safety, such as fires, flooding, power outages, structural or carrier damages, may be subject to embargo procedures in order to verify the usability of the food in question.
